Hello you!

It’s a revealing kind of day, don’t you think?
🎩 Introducing: Seen in Silverbridge #2

An Actress Is Missing by Emerson Black
The sequel to A Rockstar Has Exploded.
Luce and Huds are back with a new case to solve and this time they’ve got help. The team has grown by two, bringing the Seen in Silverbridge team to four.
💋 What’s it about?
When a popular soap opera actress goes missing, the Seen in Silverbridge team must band together to solve the case. But with each member dealing with their own personal struggles, including financial ruin, secret romances, and family drama, their secrets threaten to tear them apart.
📆 When’s it coming out?
NOVEMBER 5th 2023
That’s right. Only six weeks from now!
It’ll be exclusive to Amazon for the first three months, so it’s FREE to read if you’re on Kindle Unlimited. Otherwise, the price will be a very affordable $6. Not bad for a 90,000-word novel.
🇬🇧 What else is news?
I’m glad you asked.
Stormhouse has moved to London!

I’ve never lived abroad. It’s something I always wanted to do but for whatever reason, I let the opportunity pass me by. Meanwhile, a bunch of my friends moved to various cities around the world and have been having the time of their lives.
When the age bracket for a NZ-UK visa changed earlier this year, I couldn’t resist any longer. So, for the next who-knows-how-long, I’ll be writing to you from London, England! Cheerio, toodle-pip, etc.
Everybody has talked a pretty big game about how hard it is to move overseas. Cost of living, crime, the general vibe… In general, moving your entire life to the other side of the world can seem like a gargantuan task.
I tried to put the blinkers on and just do the things I needed to do. Apply for the visa, get character references for the visa, sort through the mountains of paperwork needed to prove financial stability (of which, as a freelancer, I had precious little), book flights, sell all my possessions, yearn for some of the possessions I sold, panic about missing my friends, etc.
I tried not to worry too much. If I wanted to worry, I definitely could have. Instead, I tried to be emotionless about each task and just do the things.
Now that I’m here, it all seems easy. Catching the tube is a breeze, catching flights is a lot simpler than I remember, and getting a SIM card was literally effortless (they give you one with your visa that comes pre-loaded with a month of endless data).
It made me think about other things in life that we perceive to be difficult. Maybe, in reality, they won’t be so challenging. Or perhaps they will be challenging, but they’ll be achievable. And the more challenges we encounter and overcome, the more faith we have in our own abilities and strength moving forward.
What are some of the things you thought would be difficult but you eventually overcame? What are some things you fear will be difficult in the future? Is there anything you’re stopping yourself from doing for fear it will be too hard?
I know living in London will come with some additional challenges I’m yet to meet, but all I have to do is remember what I’ve already achieved and remind myself of my resilience.
P.S. If you’re an author or aspiring author living in London, please get in touch. Hit Reply to this email and let’s go get a coffee.
